Island Life

Loving the cool calm turquoise and aqua comb with that pop of orange. Is that coral draped like a garland? Love it! It reminds me of a little spanish hotel I stayed in years ago with a girlfriend in the little town of Alicante on the Spanish coast. This palette the moorish inspired tile, sea shells and the stylish coastal vibe ahhh it takes me back. We planned to stay a day or two and spent the week! I was so inspired by the spanish aesthetic they love pattern and bold colour and aren't afraid to use it. Would love to head back there but this time with husband and baby in tow.

A few more shots and behind the scenes at the studio...

Elizabeth loves Louis !

A perfect complement to our IvP Lemongrass candles don't you think!

Gifts for our Guests
Design assistant super star Sarah

Super stylish Elizabeth ( I stayed behind the camera)

Pretty little vignette

We had such a lovely night last week I thought I would show you all some little snaps we captured in the week leading up to the party! Sarah covered the little inspiration journals in remnant fabric and ribbon as party favours for our bloggers and we managed to catch one of the last bunches of Peony's for the season so pretty in the blue and white jar. And I couldn't resist posting a pic of Elizabeth's amazing hand bag! Everytime she brings it to the office I think of ways to smuggle it out without her knowing!!!! (ha ha ha) Happy Tuesday design lovers... Are you loving your issue?

We Loved Having You!

Well what a lovely evening! It was so fabulous to catch up with all of our wonderful local bloggers at the showroom this week. This little pocket of the world is full to the brim with creative bloggers and designers and it was wonderful to come together and acknowledge the amazing community we are all apart of. We had a gorgeous evening full of Peach Bellini's, story sharing and plenty of giggles! One of the things we noticed was just how stylish our fellow bloggers are. Check out the gorgeous fashion in this little gathering! Thank you to everyone who came along it was wonderful to meet face to face and we missed those who couldn't make it. We look forward to the year ahead and catching up again soon. Keep your eyes open for more detail of the evening in the Ivy and Piper Magazine out next week!

Busy Busy Busy...

We are busy busy busy here at Ivy and Piper with so many things in the pipe line there is a never ending list of things to do! I am working from home this week and when I do there is always much laptop on the bed action so when I saw this in our files it made think of my week so far. However I will admit my hair is usually not so elegantly coiffed and there is generally an array of baby books and toys being enjoyed by Penny close by. Alas I try, how is your week so far?

Happy Wednesday

Ana... We Should Be Friends!

We love the work of Ana Cordeiro! So inspirational, so fresh so glam. We love the way she uses subtle soft colours on the walls almost as neutrals. So pretty and doesn't everybody need a little extra glam in our lives?

SOMETHING WE ARE WORKING...

We have been doing some work for a wonderful client of ours you may know her daughter... the lovely Lady Chatterly. The apartment is very much a work in progress however we are delighted with the progress so far! We have added lots of colour to the living areas with art, and cushioning still to come and you should see the view! We popped over and styled our clients bookcase and a few other areas in preparation for a dinner party she was hosting. To our amazement (not being the most amazing sewers) our client had whipped up the beautiful gingham napkins the day before! Don't they look beautiful with Tina's styling touches. We will show you more of the project as it develops.

Decorating 101: It's all in the details

Life is in the details, isn't that the saying? You can apply this to your decorating as well by thinking about the little things when you approach a room. Take pride in the way you display your things by creating pretty little groupings in your bookcase, on the piano or on the bedside table. My mother always picks a little posey of flowers from her garden and places them in the powder room in vintage vases. This little unexpected detail brings a smile to my face every time such a nice thought don't you think? What are the little details you bring into your decorating at home? We would love to know.

MIRROR MIRROR...

Loved this lovely little vignette spotted over at Hazel Loves Design. So elegant and pretty it would make you want to make a little extra effort in the mornings don't you think? It actually reminds us of the concept we proposed to one of the ladies at our at our last design workshop. In this workshop series our guests bring along a picture of room from home that they need help with and we show them how to turn it into a beautiful space! This particular guest had an ensuite she used as storage because she thought it was so ugly!!! Well after a little while we came up with a concept for a stunning retreat complete with an area similar to the one above for her to powder her nose! Can't wait to see the end result because we think every girl should have a space to indulge in a little luxury.

ps: if you want to attend our next workshop 19th of November head over and register here. We are offering a special 10% discount to groups of 3 or more. Limited spaces so hurry see you there for a fun filled day.

Stopped Me In My Tracks.....

Wow... I had decorating 101 planned for today but that will have to wait! How gorgeous is this painting???? Love it! Actually when I was planning the cluster wall in Penny's nursery I came across some multi-coloured zebras on etsy that stole my heart along with the flamingo's (my favourite animal) But this is to die for! I don't know anything else about it just that it is gorgeous. Head over to Full House to check it out.

Love this!!!! Isn't it just the perfect mix of raspberry and mint? A little bit glam a little bit eclectic with those big modern photography pieces to mix it all up! Loving the work of Hillary Thomas Design so clever with pattern and colour combinations. We have had this saved forever now and every time we look at it it becomes more beautiful. Spotted: Gorgeous Wallpaper

Spotted: divine wallpaper over at Kristy Lee Interiors which just so happens to be the very same paper we have hung in our Ivy and Piper showroom! The colours are beautiful and bold which is why we love it! It is always great to see the different combinations we designers use to create our own unique looks. Stay tuned as we will show you just what we used with this paper for a Ivy and Piper twist.

IvP Decorating 101: Fresh Flowers

We had a little photo shoot today so Elizabeth, Penny and I popped out to the flower markets and had a lovely leisurely wander around. It is one of my favourite things to do simply buy a bunch of fresh flowers and your mood along with your home is instantly perky! It reminded us of just how important fresh flowers are in making your home special. In fact whenever we install a job fresh flowers are a must! Such a simple and inexpensive way to breathe some life into your interior.
